Ploycam

Really neat app that uses the camera and the Lidar to make 3d models of rooms or things.

USB-C Adapters

If you buy a new Macbook, most of them ONLY have USB-C connectors.

You have to buy an adapter to do anything that doesn’t connect via USB-C.

The cheapest option is a single USB-C to USB regular adapter, this is a 2 pack for $9

I like this one, It has ethernet as well as 3 USB and one HDMI:

This one is nice, it has USB and HDMI, and an extra USB-C charging port (not for data)

New really cheap iIPad that is pretty good:

It has USB-C connector, and will work with the apple pencil 1.

If you have an older ipad, it will be a nice upgrade for $449

Of course the
Air  $599

and Pro  $799

models are better, but a lot more expensive.

If you want or need a lightning adapter, it best to look for a used one:

Laptops

Macbook Pro

I bought a 14” Macbook Pro because they finally made a keyboard that might hold up, and brought back the mag safe power adapter, and they are discounting the machines because a new one will be out soon.  The 14” and 16” only have the M1 Processor.

Macbook air and Pro 13”

The Macbook Pro 13” just came out, and is cheaper with a M2

The Air is a lot cheaper, and has a ‘better’ chip in it the M2, but doesn’t have the ports or a mag safe connector

What happened to iTunes?

If you buy a new mMac and transfer all your ‘stuff’ you will find some things that you used to do in iTunes are either not there at all or moved around to other apps:

Specifically, if you ripped audio books from CD’s, they don’t even transfer!

While Appleworks was Apple ][, it was a pioneer in many things that would show up in other programs years later:
